1. General principles

KINRYU's cargo insurance policy aims to ensure the absolute benefits and peace of mind for customers when using import and shipping services from Japan. This policy protects customers against risks such as loss, damage, or loss of goods during transportation and customs clearance.

2. Coverage

  • General goods
    • Lost insurance: Compensation of 100% of the value of goods.
    • Damage insurance: Compensation based on the loss rate (according to the declared value of goods).
  • High-value goods, branded goods, difficult-to-transport goods: For goods of high value or in special categories, apply detailed insurance policies according to the declared value:
    • Value < 30 million VND: Insurance fee 2%.
    • Value from 30 million to 100 million VND: Insurance fee 3%.
    • Value > 100 million VND: 5% insurance fee.
  • Official customs clearance goods: 100% insurance of declared goods value for both purchase orders and consignment orders.
  • Illegal customs clearance goods
    • Regular goods: Insurance is 5 times the shipping fee. Insurance fee:
      • 2% of goods value for purchase orders.
      • 5% of goods value for consignment orders.

3. Conditions of application

  • Customers need to select insurance service when creating purchase orders or consignment orders.
  • In case of no insurance purchase: If loss or damage occurs, KINRYU will refund 50% of the value of the goods or 5 times the international shipping fee (calculated according to the lower value).
  • In case goods are at risk, customers need to provide full documents, including invoices, declared value, and photos, before shipping.
  • KINRYU reserves the right to refuse insurance for sensitive, difficult-to-transport items or goods that do not meet the declared value requirements.
4. Claim process
  • Incident notification: Contact KINRYU's customer service department immediately within 48 hours of the incident.
  • Documentation provision: Submit documents related to the order (purchase invoice, delivery note, damaged photos).
  • Claim processing: KINRYU will process the claim within 7–14 working days of receiving sufficient information.
  • Compensation completion: Proceed to compensate according to the declared value or agreement with the customer.
5. Important notes
  • Insurance policy is not mandatory, but KINRYU recommends that customers use it to ensure maximum benefits.
  • KINRYU is not responsible for:
    • Goods with incorrect declared value.
    • Items are prohibited or restricted from transportation according to legal regulations.
  • For added safety, customers can use the pre-shipment cargo counting service.
